Feb 27th is General Francis Marion Memorial Day. Marion County has built the day into their school curriculum, and every third grader receives a storybook about Francis Marion, and all third and eighth-graders are invited to the wreath laying.
When you attend the wreath laying, you'll see Loyalist and Patriot reenactors, watch candle and soap making, tombstone caving, and yarn spinning. Don't miss the Swamp Fox chili cookoff! more info...
