Florence Native Commemorative Stamp - Day 101

A ceremony will be held to honor William H. Johnson at the Florence Museum tomorrow afternoon at 3:30pm. The ceremony will announce the circulation of a commemorative Forever® stamp honoring Johnson, a Florence native. The stamp features a beautiful oil-on-plywood painting of a bouquet of bright flowers, dated 1939-1940. The original artwork is hanging in the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.!

The reception honoring Johnson is free and open to the public and gives you the opportunity to purchase market first day of circulation envelopes. The stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail once-ounce rate. The Florence Museum currently holds 5 pieces of work from Johnson and has made a commitment to honor his life. Stop by the Museum tomorrow to celebrate William H. Johnson.

At the Visitor Center near the Florence Civic Center, we spend a great deal of our time in letting guests know how much is happening in Florence. We decided to share (blog-style) 365 days' worth of things to do. Find more things to do at http://www.visitflo.com/regional_calendar/%20... and enjoy!
